The Cuvée Rosé Pas Dosé 2017 by Calatroni Vini offers a sophisticated and refreshing experience, making it an excellent choice for enthusiasts seeking a sparkling rosé that embodies the essence of Lombardy’s winemaking tradition.

The grapes for this wine are manually harvested into small plastic boxes to preserve their integrity. A soft pressing is performed with minimal maceration to achieve the pale rosé color. The base wine is a cuvée that blends several vineyards where Italian and French clones of Pinot Noir are grown. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle (Metodo Classico) and is aged on the lees for at least 70 months before disgorging.

Visual: Pale, onion skin rosé with fine, steady, and persistent perlage.

Nose: Complex bouquet with balsamic and spicy notes.

Palate: Multi-faceted and intense, with notes of panettone and liquorice.

Pairing:

  • Meat Dishes: Pairs well with a wide range of meat dishes.
  • Fish Dishes: Complements various fish preparations.
  • Aperitif: Can be appreciated on its own for the pleasure of tasting.

Calatroni Vini is a family-owned winery situated in the picturesque upper Versa Valley of Oltrepò Pavese, Lombardy, Italy. Established in 1964 by Luigi Calatroni, the winery has evolved under the stewardship of his son Fausto and daughter-in-law Marisa, and is now managed by their children, representing the third generation of winemakers.

The estate spans approximately 15 hectares, with vineyards planted at elevations ranging from 180 to 320 meters above sea level. The soil composition, rich in limestone, is particularly conducive to cultivating Pinot Noir, a grape variety that thrives in the region’s microclimate.

Additionally, a photovoltaic system ensures the winery’s energy self-sufficiency, reflecting a dedication to environmental stewardship.
